  • Do I have to be in good shape before I start?
    No, you will get into shape as you train. We have a structured system that takes into consideration all levels of physical fitness regardless of weight, age & disabilities.
  • Are you ever too old to start martial arts?
    No, you are not too old to begin martial arts training. Martial Arts regularly has students start from adolecense through their 50's and older.
  • What are the benefits of becoming a student?
    Training in Martial Arts promotes fitness, confidence & self esteem as well as a sence of wellbeing, and of course self protection.
  • Is sparring & competing compulsory?
    No. We have specific classes for sparring & these are optional. Competitions are held yearly for those wishing to participate.
  • How long does it take to get a black belt?
    In McAllister KickBoxing, it takes approximately 6 years to reach student black belt.
  • Do I need Insurance?
    Yes. Your compulsory membership of the association includes third party insurance. The cost of which is £25 payable each year.
  • Do I have to register my hands if I become a black belt?
    No, that is an urban myth. Martial Artists are not required to register their hands.
